The advantage of a hovercraft is the capability to travel over surfaces which would be impossible for other vehicles. It can operate over sand, mud, shallow, overgrown water areas, over thin ice and snow.

Our hovercraft is driven by a V8 four-cycle petrol engine. The engine is directly coupled and drives the two rear fans. The airflow produced by these fans is divided into lift air and thrust air by a variable-position splitter plate behind each fan.  The lift air passes through the double hull to the skirts and build up pressure for lifting the craft off the surface.  The thrust air then moves the craft forward as soon as the craft lifts up.  The ten air rudders are turned by the handlebar to direct the air stream left or right for steering.
